Oculoplasty Care

Treatment for watering eyes, blocked tear ducts and eyelid problems — to keep your eyes comfortable and protected.

This service covers the eyelids and the tear-draining (lacrimal) system — the parts that protect the eye and keep it comfortable. Everyday problems like a constantly watering eye, a droopy eyelid, or a lump on the lid usually have a clear cause and a straightforward treatment.

Problems we see

  • Watering eyes from a blocked tear duct
  • Droopy or poorly positioned eyelids — lids that turn inward or outward
  • Lumps, cysts or styes on the eyelid
  • Other conditions of the tissues around the eye

Tear-duct (lacrimal) surgery

When tears cannot drain properly, the eye waters and can become sore or repeatedly infected. A procedure to reopen the drainage pathway can relieve this. Our team includes a surgeon with a special interest in lacrimal (tear-duct) surgery.

What to expect

Your ophthalmologist will examine the area, explain what is causing the problem, and discuss whether a procedure would help — including what it involves and how long recovery takes.
