Oculoplasty & Lacrimal Surgery

Surgery of the eyelids, tear ducts and surrounding structures, including procedures for a blocked tear duct (lacrimal).

Oculoplasty deals with the structures around the eye — the eyelids, the tear-draining (lacrimal) system, and the orbit. Lacrimal surgery addresses problems such as a blocked tear duct that causes persistent watering of the eye.

Conditions commonly seen

  • Watering eyes due to a blocked tear duct
  • Eyelid position and lid-lump concerns
  • Other conditions affecting the tissues around the eye

What to expect

Your ophthalmologist will examine the area, explain the diagnosis, and discuss whether a procedure is appropriate — including what it involves and the recovery period.
