Complete Eye Examination

A full check of your vision and eye health — including glasses and vision testing, with an on-site optical shop for your spectacles.

A complete eye examination checks both how well you see and the health of your eyes. It is the right starting point if you need glasses, if you are keeping an eye on a known condition, or if you simply haven’t had your eyes looked at in a while.

What it usually includes

  • Vision and refraction — testing your sight and your exact spectacle power
  • Eye-pressure check — an important screen for glaucoma
  • Examination of the front of the eye — lids, cornea and lens
  • Examination of the retina at the back of the eye, where needed

Many serious eye conditions have no early warning signs, so a routine check is one of the simplest ways to protect your sight.

Glasses & vision testing

If things look blurred — far away, up close, or both — the answer is often the right pair of glasses. As part of your examination we carefully measure your spectacle power (refraction), so you can see comfortably again.

It’s worth getting your eyes tested if you notice:

  • Blurred vision for distance or for reading
  • Headaches or eye strain, especially after screens or close work
  • Holding books or your phone closer or further than usual
  • A child squinting, sitting close to the TV, or struggling to see the board at school
  • It has simply been a year or more since your last test

If you need glasses, you get a clear prescription — and our on-site optical shop can make them up for you, so there’s no need to travel elsewhere. If your child’s power keeps rising year after year, ask about our Myopia Management Clinic.

What to bring

Please bring your current spectacles, any previous prescriptions or eye records, and a list of the medicines you take. If another doctor referred you, bring the referral letter too.
